At the age of 23, Nigerian musician Udoh Ebaide Joy survived a traumatic car accident that left her with a damaged spinal cord, forcing her to rely on a wheelchair for months. Despite the pain, she found a new sense of clarity and determination.

Ms Joy decided to live life to the fullest, which led her to embark on various adventures, including converting a van into a mobile home and becoming the first documented black African woman to travel solo from East to West Africa on a motorcycle.

Her 9,000km journey from Kenya to Nigeria was filled with challenges and experiences, from encountering beautiful scenery to facing visa issues and riding through intimidating forests. Throughout it all, Ms Joy embraced her fears and found strength in her resilience.

Despite never having ridden a motorbike before, she named her bike Rory and successfully navigated through multiple African countries, meeting other bikers and experiencing different cultures along the way. She documented her journey on social media, gaining a large following and inspiring women around the world.

Ms Joy faced no discrimination during her travels and received a hero’s welcome upon reaching her final destination in Lagos, Nigeria. The experience changed her perspective on life, showing her that she is capable of overcoming any obstacle and finding joy in new adventures. She has no plans to stop exploring the world on two wheels. En poco más de un mes, ella se embarcará en un viaje de Nigeria a Marruecos.
